Writing for each platform
By the end you will
Turn one idea into posts that read naturally on each platform.
Same idea, different shape
LinkedIn readers accept a few short paragraphs and a clear takeaway. X rewards one sharp point or a thread that keeps paying off. Instagram captions support a visual or carousel. TikTok and Shorts need the idea spoken in seconds, with on-screen text. Facebook works best when it sounds like you talking to people you know.
Make it easy to read
Short lines. One idea per paragraph. White space. Plain words. If a sentence needs to be read twice, rewrite it.
End with a reason to respond
Close with a question, an invitation or a simple next step. Not every post needs a call to action, but every post should make responding easy.
Before
A 400-word LinkedIn post pasted into X and cut off mid-sentence.
After
LinkedIn: a short story with the lesson. X: the lesson in one line plus a follow-up reply. Instagram: a 5-slide carousel of the steps.
MediaShark writes these versions for you; your job is to check each sounds right on its platform.
Common mistakes
- Walls of text on mobile.
- Links in every post, which some platforms show less.
- Ending with nothing for the reader to do.
Checklist
- Each version fits its platform's length and style.
- Lines are short and easy to scan on a phone.
- There is a clear, easy way to respond.
Do it in MediaShark
